Coming Soon! 2016 Nissan Titan XD
The Titan is back with a new heart.

Are you the type of person that looks at the trucks from Chevy, Ford, and Ram (formerly Dodge) and thinks that they just aren’t tough enough? Well good news! The second generation Nissan Titan is coming out in a few months and has the heart of an untamed beast.
The 2016 Nissan Titan, in Superman-style XD trim, comes with a 5.0-liter V8 turbo-diesel from Cummins. According to truck people, this is an excellent engine to tow things and impress fellow truck enthusiasts by saying “my truck has a Cummins diesel in it.” To everyone else, this means the 2016 Titan XD can tow 12,000 pounds.
Along with the engine, Nissan has festooned the 2016 Titan with truck technology that will help it to haul stuff along, and even has lights in the truck bed. There are also many options that the 2016 Titan shares with its car siblings. These include hill-start assist, cross-traffic monitoring, and many sensors and cameras to make sure you don’t hit the non-Nissan trucks at the construction site.
As for the exterior, the 2016 Titan looks like a combination of all its competition rolled into one.
The interior is what you expect from a truck: simple but with many knobs and buttons, and quite big. Nissan moved the shifter to the steering column which is actually a good move on their part since it allows for a “massive center console” (Nissan's exact words).
The Titan also comes with a seven-inch central monitor with navigation, climate control, remote start, and a Rockford Fosgate audio system. Basically, everything you need in a diesel-powered work truck. Since trucks usually have many trim levels, the Titan XD will be offered in five trim levels including an off-road PRO-4X for people who drive on dirt and a range-topping Platinum Reserve for people who don’t drive on dirt.
It is worth noting that non-XD Titans will come with gas-burning V6s and V8s, but they won’t be as cool as the XD and that turbo-diesel.
Pricing hasn’t been announced just yet, but don’t be surprised if there is a “5” as the first number on the price tag. If you’re looking for a Japanese truck with a diesel engine and available in a color called SolarFlare Yellow, the 2016 Titan XD just might be right for you. Look for it in showrooms in fall 2015.
